Everyone on GetOvr is going through something hard. These guidelines exist so that every conversation feels safe, respectful and supportive.
Be kind, and listen first
Offer support, not judgement. Everyone heals differently and at their own pace.
This is not a dating platform
Romantic or sexual approaches, flirting, requests for photos and comments on appearance are not allowed. GetOvr is for support and friendship only.
Respect privacy
Don't ask for or share real names, addresses, workplaces, social media handles or other identifying details unless someone freely chooses to share their own. Never share another person's messages or story outside GetOvr.
Respect "no"
If someone declines, goes quiet, ends a connection or blocks you, respect that. Trying to contact them another way is not allowed.
No harassment, hate or threats
Bullying, hateful language, threats and intimidation result in removal from GetOvr.
No spam or money requests
Don't advertise, sell, or ask anyone for money, gifts or financial details.
Adults only
You must be 18 or over. If you believe someone is under 18, please report them.
Look out for each other
If someone says they might hurt themselves, encourage them to contact a crisis service, share the resources on our safety page, and report it so our team can review. You are not responsible for anyone else's safety, and you don't have to handle it alone.
What happens when rules are broken
Reports are reviewed by a person. Depending on what happened, we may remove content, issue a warning, or suspend or remove an account.
